We love working with tour operators and businesses and really enjoy building up a relationship to create memorable bespoke group tours for all your valued guests.
With a background in TV and food/travel journalism, Nell can help you to create that really amazing experience for your group.
We’ve been delivering 5-star public schedule food tours for many years
For the last ten years in fact. We’ve taken thousands of guests on our Edinburgh public scheduled food tours which offer an excellent opportunity for tourists and locals to experience the city.
Are you looking for something for a bit more bespoke for your tour group?
Is it for team bonding, networking, connecting or simply to explore and have fun?
Whether you’re looking for a team-building activity or a unique family experience – perhaps even the challenge of a multi generational food tour – we will work with you to keep everyone happy and well fed!
If you have an incentive group who want to celebrate all their hard work, Edinburgh Food Safari will be able to customize the perfect event for you.
Our food tours are deliberately created to take you off the beaten path and immerse you in local history and culture, so everyone feels they have discovered a unique part of Edinburgh. Our friendly local guides will take your clients to their favourite local haunts where your guests can enjoy delicious food tastings set up especially for your group. Tours can also take place as a replacement for lunch or an evening meal.
We offer food tours in the Georgian New Town and Stockbridge which are aimed at guests who want to discover the best of Scotland: haggis – meat or veggie, single malt whisky and cheese pairing, smoked salmon and Scottish gin cocktails. Guests love visiting the oldest wine merchant in Scotland for a three-port and chocolate tasting and pea and ham soup from a former Police Box. Leith Waterfront is set in the heart of Leith and the walk is round cobbled streets of the old port with seafood, stories and sea views. They can enjoy traditional Cullen Skink – smoked haddock, leek potato soup, the Saturday market and award winning scones, homemade raspberry jam and clotted cream. if you have guests who are staying in Leith or Newhaven or on a cruise which is docked – this is the perfect food tour, as no travel is involved to get cruise guests to the start of the Leith food tour.
We also offer Scottish cooking classes for two to six in in a group. The cooking classes take place in Nell’s 200-year old Georgian flat. The group learn to make traditional smoked haddock and leek soup – Cullen Skink and their own Scottish shortbread over a three-hour period. Whilst their shortbread is cooking, they can enjoy meat or veggie haggis, potato and turnip with a dram of single malt whisky. Lunch or evening classes are available.

“Nell is always very helpful in the booking process and accommodates our groups’ needs and dietary restrictions. She even sent pictures of the tour afterwards which was a nice personal touch. Thanks Nell!”

“I took a group on a tour of Scotland. We began in Edinburgh with a wonderful food tour with Nell and Food Safaris of Edinburgh. The entire experience was delightful, delicious and so much fun. Everyone talked about that tour as one of the highlights of the trip. The salmon, veggie haggis and the scone were mentioned and /or discussed throughout the trip. It was a pleasure and a joy. A great beginning for the Scotland tour.

“Nell always delivers entertaining, innovative and engaging food experiences for our overseas visitors to Edinburgh, always with very positive feedback. Private tours can be tweaked to take account of guests’ preferences and any dietary requirements. Not only that, but visitors are extremely well looked after logistically – if they are due to have another tour immediately before or after their Food Safari, rendezvous points are thoughtfully planned and tables in cafes booked so guides know where to find their customers! All in all, Nell delivers first class experience and service, and we look forward to working with her for years to come!’’

“Thank you, thank you! You, Bob and Anne were just amazing and offered the 53 guests warm Scottish hospitality, that they continued to talk about hours after the tour. You are all experts in Edinburgh food & beverage and clearly very passionate about Edinburgh and the experience you provide your guests. Logistics on the day were seamless from meeting point and the finish time of the tour. No delays and perfectly delivered. I cannot thank you enough and I will be recommending you to the wider business as a 10/10 Edinburgh experience”.

“Across the Pond Vacations has truly enjoyed working with Nell at Edinburgh Food Safaris. Her Food Safaris are lots of fun, but our clients truly enjoy the Home Cooking and Dining Experience in her home. Teaching our clients about traditional and more contemporary food and how to best prepare it allows for them to feel that they are truly meeting with a local (which they are!) who is excited to share all about Scotland’s amazing food scene. As tour operators looking to provide a unique experience to our clients, we’re particularly happy that this offering is available!”
